Our editorial standards
Empire publishes two types of content: calculator tools and editorial articles. Each follows specific standards for accuracy, sourcing, and review.
Calculator accuracy
- Formula sourcing: All calculation formulas are based on publicly documented methodology from authoritative sources (provider documentation, industry standards bodies, or peer-reviewed financial formulas).
- Pricing data: AI provider pricing is sourced directly from official pricing pages and updated within 72 hours of announced changes.
- Benchmark data: Industry benchmarks (salary ranges, CPM rates, SaaS multiples) are sourced from named, reputable research reports and updated at least quarterly.
- Validation: Every calculator is tested against known real-world scenarios before publication. Calculations are cross-checked against spreadsheet models and, where possible, official calculators.
Article standards
- Expert review: All articles are written or reviewed by a team member with direct professional experience in the topic area.
- Sources: Statistical claims cite their source inline or in a references section. We link to primary sources, not secondary aggregators, where possible.
- Updates:Articles are reviewed and updated when material facts change. The “last updated” date reflects substantive content changes, not minor edits.
AI content disclosure
AI Calcus uses AI writing tools (including Claude and ChatGPT) as part of our content creation process. Specifically:
- AI tools are used to draft initial versions of articles and FAQ content.
- All AI-generated content is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by a human team member with relevant domain expertise before publication.
- Calculator formulas and data inputs are written and verified by humans — AI is not used to derive mathematical formulas.
- We do not publish AI-generated content without human review and validation.
Corrections policy
If you find an error in a calculation or article, please contact us. Verified errors are corrected within 48 hours. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the affected page.
Commercial relationships
AI Calcus is monetized through display advertising (Google AdSense). We do not accept sponsored content, paid placements, or affiliate arrangements that influence calculator results or editorial recommendations. Ads are clearly separated from editorial content.
